The Minister For Sport has announced funding for the replacement of old clay courts with a new hard court surface such as that used for the Australian Open. Fences will be replaced as well as additional lighting for a further six courts.

Jade Culph defeated Aaron Leeder-Chard in a hard fought three set final of the Victorian Country Championships held at Wodonga over the Labour Day weekend. He came from behind to win 4-6 6-3 6-4.
The womens event was won by Alana Parnaby over Jaide Collins. She also came from behind in an even longer three set match to win 4-6 7-5 6-2.
